Mortgage Choice Charity Foundation raises $360,000 for Australian charities

The Mortgage Choice Charity Foundation (MCCF) has announced it has raised over $360,000 for
Australian charities over FY24. This includes $96,000 raised for the MCCF national charity partner,
Dolly’s Dream, and over $264,000 raised for more than 50 local charities.

The MCCF was established in 2022 and is managed by a committee of franchise owners and
backed by REA Group. Donations are raised through voluntary contributions from Mortgage Choice
brokers, who contribute $5 to the Foundation for each loan written.

Over FY24, 92% of brokers in the Mortgage Choice network opted in to contribute to the MCCF – up
from 83% in FY23.

Anthony Waldron, CEO of Mortgage Choice said, “We are so proud of the impact the Mortgage
Choice Charity Foundation is having on the most vulnerable members of our communities. Our
committee members have a strong desire to make a difference, bringing awareness to national and
local charities, and rallying our network behind important causes. Not only do most of our brokers
donate $5 for every loan they write, but many of them also generously donate their time
volunteering with local charities.”

In FY24, Mortgage Choice announced Dolly’s Dream as its national charity partner. Dolly’s Dream is
an organisation committed to changing the culture of bullying through education and direct
support to young people and families.

Sally Sweeney, Head of Dolly’s Dream said, “The Dolly’s Dream partnership with the Mortgage
Choice Charity Foundation is truly incredible. Since 2023, we have achieved so much together and
raised over $96,000. This partnership is helping to raise awareness of our anti-bullying programs,
workshops and initiatives within the local community. Every act of kindness, every conversation and
every effort made by the Mortgage Choice team truly counts in our movement to end bullying. We
can’t wait to see what the future holds.”

Over FY24, Mortgage Choice brokers supported more than 50 local charities around Australia
including: Big Group Hug; the Cancer Council’s Relay for Life; Giant Steps; Habitat for Humanity;
LifeBlood; Starlight Children’s Foundation and St Mary’s House of Welcome.

Donna Campbell, MCCF Committee National Chairperson said, “I believe it is great for small
business owners to give back to the community. By volunteering time to help those less fortunate
you gain a new perspective and a strong sense of purpose.

“Our Victorian franchisees have been volunteering at St Marys House of Welcome for several years,
cooking BBQs for those in need. It’s so rewarding to hear the stories of the people who rely on St
Marys and to see our impact firsthand. These experiences remind me how lucky we are to have
food to eat and somewhere warm to sleep without struggles.”

In FY25, Mortgage Choice will continue to support Dolly’s Dream as its national charity partner and
state-based charities nominated by Mortgage Choice franchisees.
