Humbli Chair Dr Andrew McLaughlin and CEO Damien Farrell today announced the appointment of Brett Halliwell as a non-executive director of Humbli.
Welcoming Mr Halliwell to the Board, Mr Farrell noted the extensive banking and finance experience he will bring to Humbli.
“We’re excited to have Brett onboard because of his depth of experience and respect across the finance and broking industry. Brett has previously held senior cross-functional roles, including at NAB and Advantedge for 17 years.
“As a board member, I have no doubt Brett will play a pivotal role shaping Humbli’s development and growth. His skills will assist us to fulfil our core mission, providing tools built with a different approach to financial education, which will better inform customers entering financial commitments. Brett’s understanding of the market will also allow us to shape products which generate mutual benefits for lenders, aggregators and brokers,” added Mr Farrell.
In taking up his position as a non-executive director, Mr Halliwell said “I was particularly drawn to Humbli’s mission, which aligns to my desire to lift consumer knowledge and awareness in the financial services sector. Entering a home loan is the biggest financial commitment most people make in their lifetime. Humbli’s innovative tools and learning design approach, will assist lenders and brokers to better educate their customers, leading to more confident and better-informed financial decisions and outcomes.

Brett Halliwell joins fellow board members Dr Andrew McLaughlin, CEO of NatWest Commercial and Institutional Banking (based in the UK); Belinda Gibson, Professional NED and former Deputy Chair at ASIC; Richard Wenzel, Australian tech entrepreneur and Co-Founder Nitro (ASX:NTO); and Louisa Keck, Chief Operating Officer of The Reach Foundation.
